      MicroSpec, with offices in Toronto, ON and Louisville, KY, provides registration and ticketing services for many well-known trade and consumer shows across North America. Our primary focus in everything we do is "KISS" - keeping it simple and stress-free. We are currently seeking the following qualified, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team.       All positions are for the Toronto office (HWY 7 and 400 area).
      Due to the nature of this business nights and weekends are required during our busy seasons.

      1. Ticketing Coordinator

      MicroSpec is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who enjoys variety to join our team as a full time Ticketing coordinator / Assistant Office Admin


      Ticketing Coordinator (80%)

      • main contact to coordinate set up and running of all ticketing shows (approximately 120)
      • setting up clients websites for our ticketing division using in-house custom software and website templates (knowledge of html is needed css would be helpful but not mandatory
      • updating sites with promotional codes / discounts
      • assisting end users with questions via email and phone - strong customer service a must
      • working with other teams in preparing our events to go on site
      • working on site at consumer shows when required (Toronto area)

      Office Admin (20%)

      • data entry and payment processing for registering attendees
      • answering phones / directing calls
      • back up for office admin
      • Filing
      • Arranging couriers
      • misc office items

      The following qualifications will encourage success on our team:

      • Sound knowledge of computer software
      • some knowledge of HTML
      • CSS would be helpful but not mandatory
      • Excellent use of the English language, both written and verbal.
      • Typing min. 50 wpm
      • Min 1 year experience in a customer support position

      The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

      • Above average detail orientation and organizational skills.
      • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize deadlines.
      • Natural customer service focus.
      • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
      • Ability to work a shifted work week of either Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday

      2. Junior Web Developer / Programmer

      Pay Rate: 40 - 45k per year

      The Job:

      Support internal staff on daily needs such as pulling database information (SQL queries) and eventually fixing small bugs in custom software (Coldfusion, ASP)
      Learn to create new reports for our custom reporting tools using SQL.

      • The successful candidate who joins our development team will be helping out with client requests, handling miscellaneous developer related tasks, and eventually handling small code modifications to our web applications. Tasks will require learning web development and data handling skills and a high level of customer service.
      • Learn our in-house systems well enough to provide support on their use.
      • Work with clients on their specific and unique needs.
      • Report directly to our senior programmers working closely with them in the development of future and on going custom developed systems
      • Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver requirements within tight deadlines (Nights and weekends are required during our busy seasons.).

      What you bring to us:

      • Since this is a junior position you will be expected to be generally familiar with the skills necessary but motivated to learn more as your tasks progress.
      • Have some experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL. Some exposure to JQuery, Coldfusion and Classic ASP would be beneficial as well.
      • Be able to provide examples of any previous web development
      • Have no problem facing tight deadlines on a daily basis
      • Are excited to research for solutions when faced with technical challenges
      • You are a good communicator and can express your ideas both verbally and written as well as in technical and non-technical terms for end users / clients to understand
      • You are fluent in English.
      • You are a team player and have a strong work ethic.
      • You get along with others easily and are comfortable in a unstructured, relaxed work environment.
      • You are open to new ideas and concepts and learning new skills
      • Excited to become part of a team

      3. Junior Operations Coordinator

      MicroSpec is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who enjoys variety to join our team as a full time Jr Operations Coordinator. MicroSpec Systems Inc provides registration and ticketing services for many well-known trade and consumer shows across North America.

      Job Description
      Warehouse / Onsite Component

      • reporting to the Operations Coordinator
      • prepare equipment for shipping which can include:
        • taking equipment off shelves and cleaning it to go out for a show
        • ensuring all software is current
        • testing equipment prior to shipping and adjusting settings
      • show setups including installing the network on-site, running all appropriate cables / wires, setting up systems and on site testing
      • travel to shows across Canada and the US
      • training of on site staff at shows
      • prepare daily status reports
      • routine maintenance and updates to show equipment
      Lead Retrieval (equipment rental at events)
      • Preparing scanners to go to shows
      • assisting with distribution of scanners on site at show
      • exhibitor training on proper use
      • floor walks to ensure proper operation of units
      • reporting any issues right away to managers
      Office / Admin Component
      • equipment Forecasting
      • preparing shipping schedules, accounting for equipment usage, providing supervisor with appropriate reports for shortage
      • ensuring all components on each show checklist has been done and is correct prior to shipping of equipment for a show
      • preparing shipping documentation including customs
      Show Manuals
      • preparing and updating show manuals for all process’ and new systems
      Customer Service
      • dealing with show managers on site to make sure all needs / requirements are being met and addressing any issues or reporting to management right away
      • arranging with show managers delivery schedule for equipment
      The following will encourage success on our team:

      • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
